Abstract

This chapter reviews the state-of-the-art of characterization methods for research of inorganic materials for use in large-format additive manufacturing (LFAM), more particularly cement and clays. The specific requirements that materials must meet in terms of both fresh and hardened properties are briefly described. The techniques, standards, and tests used to characterize the materials are then described.
