Abstract
This article compares the constructability of Special Works of Art (OAE’s) using 3D concrete printing (3DCP) and precast concrete with the traditional in-situ cast concrete system. According to the National Department of Transport Infrastructure - DNIT (2015), bridges, railway viaducts, overpasses, underpasses, and walkways, designed in reinforced, prestressed concrete, metal, or a combination of these, are classified as OAE's. A case study on the Bom Juá Viaduct in Salvador examines the construction process, comparing equipment, transportation, fabrication time, labor, and costs for different methods. The results highlight that 3DCP technology reduces labor and time but faces implementation challenges in Brazil.
