Abstract
In recent years, 3D concrete printing has experienced significant advances with the potential to revolutionize the construction industry by reducing material consumption, minimizing waste and shortening execution times. However, in Peru, its implementation is still incipient due to the high cost of gantry printers and the lack of local manufacturers. This study evaluates the feasibility of using sustainable materials in 3D printing mortars by incorporating 2 % of coconut fibers and partially replacing 13% of the fine aggregate with ground PET. Experimental printed mixes were designed with a gantry 3D machine and key properties such as flowability, extrudability, constructability and compressive strength at different ages were evaluated. The results evidenced a good performance of the sustainable mixtures, demonstrating their suitability for use in 3D printing processes. It is concluded that the incorporation of recycled waste and natural fibers allows the development of viable mortars, contributing to environmental sustainability and promoting new alternatives for construction in the Peruvian context.
