Abstract

Selected papers from the Construction Research Congress 2022, held in Arlington, Virginia, March 9–12, 2022. Sponsored by Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, the Construction Research Council, and the Construction Institute of ASCE. This collection contains 143 peer-reviewed papers on automation, data analytics, and computer applications in the construction industry. Topics include: modular and offsite construction; BIM; digital twinning in construction; artificial intelligence, machine learning, and virtual and augmented reality; big data in decision making; computer modeling in construction; Lidar, radar, and unmanned aerial systems in construction; worker safety, assessment, and training; and robotics and robot-human interactions in construction. This collection highlights the latest research and industry practices leading to next-generation techniques, technologies, and strategies in construction and the built environment.
