Abstract
This paper presents a comparison between indirect test methods for evaluating the buildability of 3D-printed mortars and concretes. The tests were carried out on extruded samples of eight cement-based mixtures with different rheological behavior. Based on the results obtained, predictions of material and stability failure are made and compared with the results of the direct printing test. The advantages and disadvantages of different test methods are then discussed. These include constant rotational velocity (CRV) rheometry techniques, a rapid penetration test and uniaxial compression tests with and without transverse strain restraint.
