Abstract

Driven by promising increases in efficiency, concrete 3D printing is constantly being developed further. In order to transfer the knowledge gained into construction practice in a low-threshold manner, printable concretes are recommended within the framework of the applicable regulations. The limitation of the powder content poses a challenge here. In order to overcome this, a generalizable, numerically supported application of the grain size distribution according to Andreasen and Andersen is proposed as a basis for concrete design. Experimental investigations have demonstrated good buildability and sufficient extrudability of a concrete with a 16 mm maximum grain size and a powder content of 500 kg/m³.
