Abstract
Advances in 3D printing technology have reached architectural scales with 3D concrete printing, a digitally controlled fabrication process in which fibre-reinforced concrete is deposited layer-by-layer to fabricate building elements. In this paper we present a brief overview of key concrete 3D printing related research development efforts, followed by a report on a research project into the parametric online customisation and fabrication of small 3D concrete printed pavilions. The research project is set in, and addresses possibilities and constraints of, the developing local Chinese construction context.
